Renewables in Hull about to take off?
Andrew Morton, account director of Hull-based Footprint Renewables, writes about Siemens formally submitting plans for a wind turbine factory on the banks of the Humber estuary:
FOR months, it has been the decision people and businesses across the Humber area have been waiting, and hoping, for.
The reports today that engineering giant Siemens has submitted plans for a new multi-million pound wind turbine factory in Hull is the biggest economic good news story the region has seen in at least a generation.
Being a Hull-based public relations and marketing company specialising in renewable energy, this long-awaited development has meant an amazing, fast-paced few hours for Footprint Renewables – anticipating the announcement, pulling together reaction for the Press and providing briefings to clients.

RenewablesCareers Speaks Out!
Next week is going to be a busy one, as I’m heading down to London to take an active part in a very exciting conference focussed on two of my favourite topics, Jobs and Green energy.
Green Power conferences have organised a Renewable Energy HR conference and exhibition which is taking place in the America Square conference centre in London, on 6th and 7th December.
I am delighted to announce that on day 1, I will be hosting a round table discussion on how to write more effective job adverts, and on the second day I will be speaking along with Jobsite UK’s Business Development Director, John Whittaker. We will be talking about how using a job board can help reach those hard to find job seekers, the people who are essential for the success of any business in this exciting time of growth in the alternative energy sector.

RenewablesCareers goes on tour
I’ve been getting out and about quite a bit recently, taking RenewablesCareers on tour, and have attended some very exciting events within the Renewable Energy Sector.
RenewablesCareers was proud to be a media partner to the excellent Renewable UK conference and exhibition in Manchester. The event was Renewable UK’s 33rd annual event dedicated to wind, wave and tidal energy. Sponsored by Siemens, more than 5,000 delegates attended the event and over 300 companies exhibited in the halls. The event was a massive success and I’m sure like many others I left with a very positive buzz about the future of Renewable Energy in this country.
